Kaswoosh is a recurring spell in the Dragon Quest series.
Appearances[]
Dragon Quest III[]
Making its debut, it is learned by Priests and Sages at level 36, dealing between 60~120 damage for 9 MP. It is used by Franticores in battle, while Ortega uses this spell in his fight with King Hydra. In addition, it is used by Phoenixes, Arcticores, Zoma, and Xenlon in the HD-2D Remake.
Dragon Quest IV[]
Learned by Meena at level 32, it costs 8 MP to cast and is also used by Whirly girlies, Red dragons, Sasquashes, and Aamon during his initial fight with the Chosen, as well as Drakulards in the remakes.
Dragon Quest V[]
Learned by the Hero at level 32, it has been enhanced to deal between 80~180 damage and is cast for 8 MP once again. It is also used by Moosifers, Balhibs, Hyperanemons, Wight kings, and Kon the Knight in battle.
Dragon Quest VI[]
Acting the same as in V, it is learned by advancing to Rank 4 of the Paladin and is cast for 8 MP once again. It is also used by High djinkses and the Stormsgate Citadel in battle. It is also learned by recruited Gustblusters, though only in the SNES version.
Dragon Quest VII[]
Learned the same way as in VI, as well as mastering the Draguar, it costs 8 MP to cast once again and is also used by Drakulards, Djinn genies, Vaipur, and Skraw in battle. In the 3DS remake, it is also learned by advancing to Rank 5 of the Pirate and Hero, Rank 6 of the Sage, and Rank 2 of the Druid.
Dragon Quest VIII[]
Angelo learns the spell at level 32, and possesses a base damage of 64~144 for 8 MP once again, and will steadily grow towards a cap of 120~200 damage once Angelo's wisdom surpasses 450. It is also used by Dark ministers, Wight kings, and the Statue of Angelo, as well as Juggerwroth in the 3DS remake.
- As with other third-tier spells, Kaswoosh was modified in the 3DS remake, with the base range now 112~152, and the cap being 164~224 at 520 wisdom.
Dragon Quest IX[]
Kaswoosh is learned by Minstrels at level 36 and Luminaries at level 45, costing 26 MP to cast. It rips through a group of enemies, dealing 80~180 base damage and yhe spell will begin to reach its cap of 155~255 once the caster's magical might surpasses 200. It is also used by Bling badgers, Corvus in his first forme, Fowleye, and Mortamor in battle.
Dragon Quest X[]
Kaswoosh is learned by Minstrels at level 51, while Luminaries learn it a level before them, and Pirates at level 65, as well as investing 32 skill points into a recruited monster's Woosh Knowledge skill tree after their 4th reincarnation and is also cast by Damniuni when he is summoned by a player in the Druid vocation. The spell's formula is Magical might x 0.45 + 35.9, leading to a base range of 57~87 and max range of 177~20, with the tornadoes conjured by the incantation radiate out from the caster in a counter-clockwise patter, striking enemies within the range multiple times. It costs 26 MP (14 MP at Version 2 and 12 MP from 2.1 onwards) to cast, and is also used by Missing lynxes, Draguars, Wight priests, Wight emperors, Night cats, Goregoyles, Naumannborgs, Psycho masters, Fromage flays, Galengus, Jadoais, Grinsquirrels, Mukfish, Cottonclouds, Macelies, Cyclowns, Red barons, Hawk men gone Vicious, Relulu, Hate tree, Butoma Preciana, Pazuzu, Evil Alvin, Scarlet Knight, Bonita, Sleepowl, and Executioner Dobuna, as well as Balhib, Drakulards, Wight Kings, and Hyperanemons once again. In the Offline version of the game, it is learned by Fura at level 46, Prince Laguas at level 45, and the Hero in the Luminary vocation at level 50 and the Minstrel vocation at level 51. It is also used by Guru Sudok in his boss fight.
Dragon Quest XI[]
"Beast begone, thou black offence,
May heaven’s winds propel thee hence!"— Against the Auroral Serpent
Serena already learns this spell when she rejoins the party, first using it against the Auroral Serpent after he is defeated. It costs 20 MP to cast, with the spell's base range is 124~252 and the maximum range is 162~290. Because Serena never develops any magical might save for equipment bonuses and seeds, the growth range for the spell is 1~250 magical might. It is also used by Kleptoreptiles, Godsteeds, Lunar chimaeras, Lump wizards, Grim gryphons, Old men of the sea, and Gold drohls gone Vicious, and Whirly girlies and a Grey gordon gone Malicious, as well as Wight Kings, Balhibs, Hyperanemons, and Cyclowns and Moosifers gone Malicious once again.
Dragon Warrior Monsters[]
Known as Infermost in this game, it is an upgraded form of Infermore. Infermore grows into Infermost when the monster reaches level 27 with 104 max MP and 134 INT.

Infermost now requires 242 INT to learn.

Kaswoosh costs 22 MP and will deal 114~126 damage. Once the caster's Wisdom rises higher than 250, the spell will increase in power until it hits 209~231 damage at 999 Wisdom.

It is used by Aamon.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3/Professional[]
Kaswoosh has the same parameters as in the prior two Monsters titles.
Dragon Quest Heroes[]
Kaswoosh is the third tier spell of Isla and can be learned by investing 16 skill points. After charging her Swoosh spell for a short time, she can cast Kaswoosh, which creates four whirlwinds in front of her for 26 MP. The whirlwinds last for 5 seconds, allowing Isla to rack up lots of hits and damage in conjunction with her other attacks.
Dragon Quest Heroes II[]
Kaswoosh also appears as the third tier spell of Meena and now only costs 14 MP. It can be learned by investing 16 skill points after they reach level 22 and have learned Swoosh.

Dragon Quest Tact[]
Learned by Wight Kings at level 54 and Vis Magers at level 52, it damages all enemies in range and costs 108 MP to cast. It can also be learned by Wrecktors and Teeny sanguinis via their Talent Blossoming, while a scroll of this spell can be obtained for 5000 Legend League Series 4 Medals at the Swap Shop.

Dragon Quest Treasures[]
Learned by Hat hamwitches, Shadow ministers, Stormy sabrecats, and Valhalla vultures at level 33, it generates twisters that ram into enemies repeatedly, dealing heavy Woosh spell damage and costs 22 MP to cast for the first time since Dragon Quest Monsters 2.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince[]
Kaswoosh costs 22 MP and is learned via the Aamon, Polariser, Snow Drifter, Storm Chaser, Vagabond, and Woosh Virtuoso talents. It has a base power of 120 and will deal an average of 220 damage at 999 wisdom.
Dragon Quest Champions[]
Reappearing as the Coup de Grâce for the Rod of paradise, it damages all enemies with large twisters and is also used by Winged sabrecats in battle.
