Kerplunk is a recurring spell in the Dragon Quest series.
Description[]
Revives and restores all HP to party except the caster, who sacrifices self and all MP.
Appearances[]
Dragon Quest IV[]
Making its debut, it is learned by Meena at level 35, and is also used by Beelzebuzzes in battle.
Dragon Quest V[]
Learned by the Hero at level 28, recruited Liquid metal slimes at level 7, recruited Rockbombs at level 19, recruited King cureslimes at level 14, and already learned by Bomboulders when they are recruited, it acts the same as in IV and is also used by Pazuzus and Bomboulders in battle. It is also learned by recruited Ghosts at level 40 from the PS2 remake onwards.
Dragon Quest VI[]
Learned by advancing to Rank 7 of the Paladin vocation, it acts the same as in its last two appearances and is also used by Bomboulders once again. It can also be learned by recruited Rockbombs at level 25, though only in the SNES original.
Dragon Quest VII[]
Learned the same way as in VI, it acts the same once again and is also used by Bomboulders once again. It is also learned by advancing to Rank 6 of the Champion vocation in the 3DS remake.
Dragon Quest VIII[]
Learned by Yangus if 82 skill points are invested into the Humanity skill tree, it acts the same as in previous appearances once again and is also used by Pigmalions, as well as Beelzebuzzes and Bomboulders once again.
Dragon Quest IX[]
Kerplunk is learned by Paladins at level 46 and acts the same as in previous appearances once again, though it costs 20 MP in addition to all MP to cast and is also also used by Bomboulders once again.
Dragon Quest X[]
Learned by investing 150 skill points into the Guardian's Barricade skill tree, it acts the same as in previous appearances once again, but costs 100 MP to cast. It is used by Rainbow rocks and Ori columns, as well as Bomboulders once again.
Dragon Quest XI[]
Learned by Serena at level 60, and Hendrik at level 65, it acts the same as in previous appearances once again, but costs 32 MP in addition to all MP to cast. It is also used by Bomboulders once again.
