Biography[]

Dragon Quest II[]

The King of Moonbrooke was seen in the prologue; during what appeared to be a peaceful day, while conversing with his beloved daughter in the countryard, his castle was attacked by a massive horde of monsters sent by the cruel High Priest Hargon. The attack was devastating, wiping out virtually every human inside and even the king met a grimsly fate, being, after a corageous resistance, burned alive by the monsters, but not before ordering his daughter to hide herself and to not grieve him. Luckily a mortally injuried soldier was able to pass the news of Moonbrooke's fall to Midenhall. Furthermore, the king's daughter survived, albeit being cursed to take the form of a dog.

While visiting the ruins of Moonbrooke's castle, the restless soul of the king and his subjects can be met, unable to pass on in the afterlife due to his horrible end, the king being even unable to see his daughter if spoken to. Fortunately, upon Hargon's final defeat, these restless spirits, including the King were finally able to rest in peace; the king, now able to see the princess, have an emotional reunion with her, in which the Princess swore to someday rebuild Moonbroke, before the king finally passed into the afterlife in peace, quietly fading away.

Dragon Quest Builders 2[]

Met while visiting the Island of Moonbroke, the king was originally locked in a never ending battle with the monsters. He's holled up in his throne room, with the Builder and Malroth eventually freeing him and helping rebuild his castle.

In truth, the King is a recreation of the real King of Moonbrooke who once could be found in the outside world; although the memories of original deceased self were unreachable, they would eventually awaken inside of him, propting him to privately ask the Builder what had become of his daughter, being immensely relieved in knowing her fate. Despite now knowing of being an illusion, The king was nontheless steadfast in his goal to defeat the Children of Hargon for good.

He stays behind on the island of Moonbrooke after Atlas is defeated.
