Dragon Quest III[]
The King Hydra makes its first appearance fighting Erdrick's father Ortega and kills him, causing his death in his son's arms. It is later the first of three monsters Erdrick and his companions fight before facing its master, Zoma. King Hydras can also appear as random encounters in the Cloudsgate Citadel bonus dungeon of the remakes.
