The King of Accordia, better known as the High King, is a character in Dragon Quest Heroes II. He was the ruler of the city of Accordia, the center of The Seven realms both by position and political power, with the High King serving as the upholder of peace between the kingdoms as the descendant of the ancient advisor that once served both High King Unos and High King Fractos, before the latter's fall into darkness. Personality[]

Originally, the High King was a wise man, regarded in fact as the wisest of all the Seven realms, upholding his duty to keep the peace among the kingdoms by acting as a mediator, and earning the complete trust and loyalty of Desdemona, as well as the other royals of the world.

Unfortunately, deep down the High King was an incorregible fatalist. truly believing that fate was both inevitable and unavoidable; as such, when the Seven realms were plundged into war, and the Prophecy of Kings was steadily coming into fruition, the High King felt that it was just a matter of time before it would be fullfilled. So, when Fractos covertly appeared before him posing as his twin, the High King tragically did not find it suspicious at all, and truly believing him to be his kin instead embraced his supposed role of one of the twin rulers proohetizied, falling straight into the fiend's carefully planned trap.

Due to Fractos's subsequent manipulation, from that point foerward the High King began to despise humanity, seeing the corruption of the sacred Cup of Kings as proof of its irredimable corrupt nature, and thusly deciding to plunge the Seven Realms into another, supposedly last, great war in order to completely exterminate humanity and thusly ensure "peace". While in this state, the High King would frequently, just like Fractos, prattle on how humans were useless, weak, pathetic and so on, so much so that even the ever patient Kiryl couldn't help but respond sarcasticly to it. The High King had not the time for reconsider his ill-fated decision as, upon being defeated by the party, he was then struck down by his supposed twin, dying betrayed by the one he though was his closest ally.

Abilities[]

In battle, the High King was a surprisingly good spellcaster, although not as powerful as the Queen of Ingenia; nevertheless, after assorbing the dark powers of the corrupted Cup of Kings and supported by his "Twin Brother", the High King was able to cast poweful spells, like Kasizz, usually casted in a cross formation

His most frequent attack, Have a Ball, would either inflict an exploding ball of wind, a spread of fireballs around them, an ice sphere with a delayed explosion that created an ice shockwave, or a huge bolt of black lightning. Also, he could force his opponents to dance, conjure a black sludge from the Cup of Kings that cursed its target with the temporariry inability to heal, cast a spell that would bind anyone caught in it, usually treacherously in conjuntion with the powerful Mountainmover, fly across the room casting Kasizzle followed by creating a black magic circle that explode in Kazammle, and finally, even cast the ever destructive Frizz Cracker, all while teleporting all around the battlefield via black magic circles.

Frizz Cracker in particular, is so damaging that the only way to withstand it was to hide behind one of the two stone pillars previously created by the High King's Mountainmover.

In cutscenes, the High King has been shown to be able to completely shrugh off damage with a magical barrier, should he expect the incoming attack.
