A king slime is a monster who appears in the Dragon Quest game series.

Characteristics

They appear to be large, engorged slimes, notably due to their chubby cheeks imposing on the edges of their toothless grins. Going along with their kingly status, they have crowns, usually shown as being gold-rimmed with purple and green striped fabric.

Most king slimes just attack by smothering their opponents in their sheer mass of slime. Other strains can heal allied foes, or create havoc by covering the party's wagon, thus preventing swaps of party members. Should this be the case, the slime in coverage must be defeated.

Friendly king slimes share a similar dialectal quirk to their lesser brethren, creating oozy puns with a regal flair.
