Lazarel, along with Teresa (who is later revealed to be his older twin sister), is one of the two main characters in Dragon Quest Heroes II.
Appearance[]
He has shaggy, light purple hair and wears a green tunic, leggings, boots, and gloves, as well as a yellow scarf around his neck. His starting class is Warrior, like Teresa, but this can be changed as the game progresses. In original artwork, he is usually depicted wielding twin swords, although this can also be changed early on in the game.
Personality[]
Lazarel is a hot-blooded military cadet who loves rushing into battle. He doesn't hold his tongue when it comes to speaking his mind, which was often the inciting incident when it came to quarreling with Cesar in their youth, only to be stopped by Teresa when things got too intense or dangerous. Still, he is shown to be the more confident and go-getter type.
Skills[]
Lazarel, unlike any other fighter with the exception of Teresa, can change his Vocation, thusly becoming able to change the weapon types he can equip, and the Spells and Skills he can use; this makes him capable to equip pretty much any of the weapon types available, barring a few, less conventional ones.
- As a Warrior, his starting Vocation, he can equip Twin Swords, Swords and Shields, and Axes.
- As a Martial Artist, he can wield Staves and Claws.
- As a Mage, he is a ranged caster that focuses on blasting enemies with his Wands, Heavy Wands, and Whips.
- As a Priest, he can heal, and assists the battle with Wands, Spears, and Staves.
- As a Thief, he is a swift trickster that tears through the enemy with Claws, Whips, and Bows. Once he reaches level 20 as a Thief, if he is the leading protagonist, and a certain point in the story has been reached, Lazarel becomes able to tackle a sidequest that will reward the Thief's key, allowing him to open the special, locked Treasure chests scattered across the land.
After increasing the level of some of his starting Vocations, Lazarel can furthermore unlock two additional, stronger Vocations:
- As a Gladiator he can equip Twin Swords, Swords and Shields, Spears, Axes, and Claws. To be unlocked, both the Warrior and Martial artist classes must have reached level 20, a certain point in the story has been reached, and Lazarel himself, if he is the leading protagonist, has to clear a special sidequest.
- As a Sage, he can wield Wands, Heavy Wands, Staves, Bows, and Whips. To be unlocked, both the Mage and Priest classes must have reached level 20, a certain point in the story has been reached, and Lazarel himself, if he is the leading protagonist, has to clear a special sidequest.
Regardless of the weapon he is equipped with, Lazarel's Coup de Grâce is a variation of the Gigagash attack.
