Leg Sweep is an ability in the Dragon Quest series. It tries to trip an enemy. Naturally, the skill always fails against floating enemies.

Dragon Quest VI
Leg Sweep is learned by at the first rank of the Martial Artist vocation.
Dragon Quest XI
Jade learns the skill for 5 points in her Fisticuffs panel. It costs a single MP to use, and will attempt to knock over one enemy.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
The Hero's downward-tilt attack strongly resembles leg sweep, the main difference being that it damages the target as well as knocking them off balance.
