Lucky Dip is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series.
Appearances[]
Dragon Quest VI[]
Making its debut, it is learned by advancing to Rank 1 of the Gadabout vocation and will allow any character (Except for Amos) to perform a unique skill all for the cost of 0 MP, though the antics are unpredictable at best.
Dragon Quest X[]
Reappearing after a long hiatus, it is learned by investing 16 skill points into the Gadabout's Play skill tree and is more useful than before due to the nature of MMORPG characters all being made by players rather than the game's writers. It costs 3 MP to use, and only activates when selected from the command menu, with only 4 of the actions can be considered detrimental to the party. In the Offline version of the game, it is learned by the Hero in the Gadabout vocation at level 8, and already learned by Distan when he joins the party.
