Luminary (Dragon Quest XI)

In Dragon Quest XI, Luminary is the honorific title of a person selected by the World Tree Yggdrasil to become Her champion warrior in times of greatest need. When a Luminary is born into the world of Erdrea, his or her leaf blooms in a burst of light that sets the skies aglow. The child is also given Yggdrasil's Mark, from which divine power can be summoned to aid him or her in accordance with Yggdrasil's will.

As the story begins, only two men have borne the title: Erdwin, known as the Luminary of Legend, and the present-day Prince of Dundrasil.

The Luminary's mark bears an uncanny resemblace with the crest of the kingdom of the Great Etene Island, the ancestors of Tenton from Dragon Quest X. Considering that the Luminary has the ability to alter the flow of time, this is likely a wanted parallel, as the people of the Great Etene Island were also able to control time.
