Midheal is a recurring spell in the Dragon Quest series.

Appearances

Dragon Quest

Making its debut alongside the series, it is learned by the Hero at level 17 and heals for around 85-100 HP. It costs 10 MP to use (8 MP in the remakes), and is also used by Cosmic chimaeras, Knight abhorrents, and the Dragonlord during the first phase of the final battle.

Dragon Quest II

Midheal is already learned when Princessa joins the party after being freed from her dog curse, while Princeton learns it at level 14. It costs 5 MP to cast, and is also used by Grimlins, Orc kings, Hargonauts, Silvapithecuses, and Hargon in the remakes. The Power shield can be used to emulate this spell during a battle.

Dragon Quest III

Learned by Erdrick at levels 29-31, Sages and Priests at levels 14 to 15, it once again costs 5 MP and is also used by Lump shamen, Vladiators, Crones, Mermaniacs, Heedoo voodoos, Crone rangers, Voodoogooders, and One-man armies in battle to heal their allies.

Dragon Quest IV

Learned by the Hero at level 7, Kiryl at level 16, and Meena at level 13, it once again costs 5 MP to use (4 MP in the remakes), and is also used by Skeleton soldiers, Medislimes, Grim riders, and Prima Donna, as well as Well wishers in the remakes. The Staff of Salvation and Power shield can be used in battle to replicate the spell.

Dragon Quest V

Learned by the Hero at level 11, his son Parry at level 12, Dwight, recruited Hawk men and Jailcats at level 15, recruited Cureslimes at level 3, recruited Healslimes at level 7, recruited Conkuistadors and Epipanies at level 10, recruited Conkuisitors and Slime knights at level 5, and already learned by Pankraz, Nera, recruited Chimaeras, Revaulting horses, and Cross eyes when they join the party. It once again costs 5 MP to cast and is also used by Cross eyes, Metal slime knights, Chimaeras, Frighturns, Wizened wizards, Revaulting horses, Thwarthogs, Robbin' Hood, and the Chimaera pawn, as well as Conkuistors in the remakes.

Dragon Quest VI

Learned by Milly at level 13, Healie at level 9, Curie at level 6, advancing to Rank 4 of the Priest vocation, and already learned by Kingsley, and Goober when they join the party, it acts the same as in previous games and once again costs 5 MP to cast. It is also used by Dreamaeras, Hocus dreamaeras, King slimes, Uber dreamaeras, Water wraiths, and Belleau, as well as Frighturns once again.

Dragon Quest VII

Learned by Auster at level 12, advancing to Rank 5 of the Priest vocation, and already learned by Sir Mervyn when he joins the party, it recovers 75-95 HP, and costs 4 MP to use. It is also used by Well wishers, Mucho machos, Healium balloons, Very devils, Conkuisitors, Wharfhorses, Rainiac, Gasputin, and Togrus Maximus, as well as the King Slime boss in Highendreigh Tower. Zev and High Priestess Jacqueline can use this spell when they fight alongside Auster and his allies.

Dragon Quest VIII

Midheal is learned by Eight at level 18 and Angelo at level 15, as well as investing 68 skill points into Yangus's Humanity skill tree. It costs 3 MP to cast, and is also used by Mums, Hades condors, Hocus chimaeras, High rollers, Heads of state, See urchins, King kelps, Riptides, Empyrea, Marcello, (PS2 original for the aforementioned two) and the Statue of Hero, as well as Lump shamen, Skeleton soldiers, and Grim riders once again. In the 3DS remake, it is already learned by Morrie when he joins the party.

Dragon Quest IX

Midheal is learned by Priests and Sages at level 16, Paladins at level 20, Minstrels at level 21, Rangers at level 22, and Luminaries at level 23, healing at least 75 HP to a single ally, with more health recovered depending on the magical mending stat. It costs 4 MP to cast, and is also used by Raving lunaticks, as well as Hocus chimaeras, Medislimes, Riptides, and Skeleton soldiers once again.

Dragon Quest X

Learned by Priests at level 22, Minstrels at level 30, Paladins at level 28, Rangers at level 25, Luminaries and Sages at level 26, and Death Masters at level 64. It is also learned by investing 3 skill points into a recruited Chimaera's Healing skill tree, 25 skill points into a recruited Slime knight's Magic Rider skill tree and a recruited Slime's Slimer skill tree, 12 skill points into recruited Restless armours' Wonder Armor skill tree and recruited Teeny sanguinis's Hikari Mormon skill tree. It once again costs 4 MP to use, and is also used by Drackymas, Kotobukinos, Witch's nails, Whackolytes, Forest peckerels, Tree fellers, Monsterous Marine, as well as Medislimes, King kelps, Skeleton soldiers, and Grim riders once again.

Dragon Quest XI

Learned by the Luminary at level 19, Serena at level 16, and already learned by Rab and Hendrik when they join the party, it heals an ally or the user with a minimum of 65~85 HP, and a maximum of 85~105 HP. It costs 6 MP to use, and is also used by Shadow ministers, Mushroom mages, as well as Hades condors, King slimes, Medislimes, Metal slime knights gone Vicious, Vodoogooders, once again.
