The Mink mantle is a piece of clothing introduced in Dragon Quest II. Despite its frail appearance, the coat proves itself durable as any suit of plate mail.
Appearances[]
Dragon Quest II[]
The mantle may be purchased in the town of Burrowell, for an exorbitant price of 65,000 gold, and can be equipped by any of the Luminaries. It is the single most expensive piece of equipment in the game. In the original NES version it provides +30 defence, and +60 in all subsequent remakes. Due to the impressive amount of defence it boasts, the mink mantle makes a worthwhile piece of final equipment for either the Prince or Princess, depending on whoever is not wearing the flowing dress and if one can afford it.
Dragon Quest VII[]
The mink mantle has a defence and style bonus of +65. It can only be equipped by Maribel and Aishe and appears exclusively in the 3DS version of the game. The mantle is obtained after defeating Gigantes, the boss of the Muscle Mountain DLC tablet.
Dragon Quest Builders 2[]
The mink mantle appears in this game as the Fur Coat. It's an outfit that boosts defence by +54 and can be dyed.
In order to unlock it's recipe, the player must defeat the super strong Silvapithecus that can be found in the snowy parts of Laguma Perfuma.
Dragon Quest Tact[]
The mink mantle appears as an A-rank piece of armor as part of the limited Dragon Quest II event that can be purchased from the Swap Shop. It has a DEF bonus of +8, a WIS bonus of +5, and increases resistance against Paralysis by 8%. The mantle can only be equipped by Magic, Support, and Debuff units and has three slots for Alchemy Effects.
Dragon Quest Treasures[]
The mink mantle is Treasure No. 35 in the Legendary Armour category and can be found on the Paternoggin. Its base value is 16,500,000 gold.
