Monster Masher is a recurring ability in the Dragon Quest series.

Description[]

It deals extra damage to Material enemies, and occasionally bonus damage to other enemy types.

Appearances[]

Dragon Quest VIII[]

Making its debut, Yangus can use Monster Masher as a club technique after allocating 32 skill points into the Club skill tree. Once he has allocated 100 points, it is replaced by the more powerful Devil Crusher, which also deals double damage to demons, 50% more to material foes, and an extra 10% to everything else.

  • In the handheld port, Monster Masher deals 1.25% damage to non-materials, and 1.75% damage to materials. Devil Crusher retains these changes.

Dragon Quest IX[]

This ability is learned with 58 skill points invested into the Hammer skill tree. Unlike its previous appearance, it does not cost MP to use.

Dragon Quest X[]

Learned when 7 skill points are invested into the Hammer skill tree, it acts the same as in previous appearances, but can be enhanced with the Master Orb system from Version 3 onwards. It can also be learned by investing the same amount of skill points into a recruited Brownie's Hammer skill tree.

Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road Series[]

Appearing from Battle Road II onwards, it is the blue button skill for the Dullahan, attacking one enemy while potentially dealing a critical hit.
