Etymology
This monster's Japanese name is a reference to the 1963 Toho film Matango, which features an island overgrown with mysterious, mind-altering mushrooms that cause mutations when eaten by humans.
In localised releases, the use of "Morphean" is a reference to this monster's sleep-inducing properties.
