Etymology[]
Being a frog/plant hybrid monster, mashup of "moss", a plant-like fungus usually seen on trees, and nosferatu, an old Romanian word for a vampire that is also the title of a 1922 German silent film that was illegally drawn from Bram Stoker's Dracula and should have been destroyed; however, a few copies survived and serve as film history reference.
