Ortega's helm is a piece of equipment found in the Dragon Quest series.

History[]
It was originally given to and used by the hero Ortega from some villagers from his hometown of Aliahan as a farewell gift on his quest to defeat the Demon Lord Baramos, but he left it in the village of Mur as a keepsake to the youth Petya, whose family nursed Ortega when he was gravely injured. The helm was later obtained by Ortega's child, who had taken on their father's quest, when they revealed their relation to Ortega to Petya and his family.
Appearance and attributes[]
The helm is orange in color with with a horn on each side and a ruby in the middle of the forehead. Only the Hero/Heroine can wear it. While not the strongest helm throughout the game, the helm protects the Hero/Heroine from being affected by any status ailments inflicted on them. It is theorized that the helm may also be the same helm that comes with Erdrick's armour in Dragon Quest due the strong resemblance, but it has been repainted in a blue in color to go with the aesthetic of the armour.
Dragon Quest Walk[]
The appearance of the helm in Dragon Quest Walk, a golden coronet with a blue stone at center, is instead based on his default tiara, a piece of equipment that most modern depictions of Ortega always wear alongside the Hero, and that has been speculated to have its origin in the silvery Erdwin's coronet.
