Dragon Quest Wiki

The Platinum king jewel is a monster vocation in the game Dragon Quest VII.

The platinum king jewel, PlatKing in the older versions, is a slime monster hardened to look like a precious jewel. This vocation offers a massive increase in defence, moderate boosts in agility and appearance, moderate to sharp drops in strength and intelligence, and an extreme drop in max HP. Mastering this vocation gives a boost of +255 in defence, making a character basically untouchable.

In order to become a platinum king jewel, a character must master both the Drake slime and Ersatz Estark vocations. Another way to become a platinum king jewel is to turn in 100 mini medals to the medal king to receive the platinum king jewel heart.

  • A slug is a bullet made out of cast iron. A nugget is a small chunk of gold. An ingot is a cast made of metal that is shaped for further processing. An alloy is a mix of two or more metals to make a more durable or more easily-crafted metal; similiar to alchemy, except that alloys are not natural occuring.
