Pressure Pointer is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series.

Description[]

Tries to instantly kill an enemy, using the same resistance rates as the Whack spells.

Appearances[]

Dragon Quest III 2D-HD[]

Only appearing in the game's 2D-HD remake, it is learned by Warriors at level 21, and costs 4 MP to use.

Dragon Quest VI[]

Making its debut, it is learned by advancing to rank 6 of the Martial Artist vocation, and tries to inflict a fatal strike to instantly kill one enemy, but deals 50% melee damage if it fails. It costs 0 MP to use, but cannot be used on Metal slime monsters.

Dragon Quest VII[]

Learned as a hybrid skill of the Thief and Martial Artist vocations, it acts the same as in VI, but is learned the same way in the 3DS remake, due to the abolishment of hybrid skills. It costs 0 MP to use once again.

Dragon Quest VIII[]

While not in the game, it is used in some form by the Death scorpions in their Critical aim (急所狙い) skill.

Dragon Quest IX[]

Learned by investing 22 skill points into the Spear skill tree, it now costs 3 MP to use, but otherwise acts the same as in its previous appearances, with the exception that its success rate is no longer dependent on the whack resistance rates. It can now be used against Metal slime monsters, which is essential for clearing the Operation Mercury sidequest by using it against 3 Metal medleys, and is also used by Deadcurions in battle.

Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road Series[]

Reappearing from Battle Road II onwards, it is the red button skill for the Poison needle weapon and in Battle Road II Legend, the 3rd skill for Spiked hares that replaces 10 Million Volts when they are paired up with the player in the Hero vocation, dealing single digit damage to one enemy or damage equivalent to that enemy's HP.

Dragon Quest Heroes II[]

Used by Night riders when players transform into one through their Monster Medal.
