Professor Toilen Trubble is a non-player character in Dragon Quest V and its animated adaptations. He is introduced as an eccentric elderly alchemist who lives in the town of Zoomingale.
A younger version of himself is one of the central characters in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, travelling Nadiria alongside Psaro and Rose.
Etymology[]
The Professor's name is taken from the opening lines of William Shakespeare's Macbeth, where "three weird sisters" chant:
Fair is foul and foul is fair.
Hover through the fog and filthy air!
Double, double, toil and trouble!
Fire burn and cauldron bubble!
