Rain of Pain is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series.
Description[]
Launches 3-4 arrows at random targets, with each hit dealing 50% of a normal attack.

Dragon Quest VIII[]
Known as Multishot in its debut appearance, Angelo can use the skill when one invest 44 skill points in his Bow skill tree. When used, it hits a random enemy 3 to 4 times for 50% damage of a normal attack, costing 4 MP to use. Bodkin bowyers use this skill from this entry onwards.
Dragon Quest IX[]
This ability is learned with 58 skill points allocated into the Bow skill tree and costs 4 MP to use once again. From this entry onwards, it hits a random enemy 4 times. Bodkin bowyers once again use this skill.
Dragon Quest X[]
Learned by players when they invest 76 skill points in the Bow skill tree, it hits an enemy for 0.65 times the damage of a normal attack 4 times. Bodkin Bowyers once again use this skill, along with the rarefied Bodkin bloodbows, Bodkin archers gone Vicious, Hellbound hunters, Ghost berries, & Hellbound hair-raisers. It costs 6 MP to use prior to Version 2 of the game (And has since been put at 5) and range has been improved throughout said updates. It can also be enhanced through Master Orb jewels from Version 3 onwards, and can be learned by investing 40 skill points into a recruited Chest mimic's bow skill tree from 2.4 onwards.
Dragon Quest XI[]
Now an enemy only skill, it is used by Overkilling machines and Uberkilling machines, as well as Bodkin Bowyers, Hellbound Hunters and Hellbound Hair-Raisers once again. It acts the same as in previous appearances.
Dragon Quest of the Stars[]
Appears as a skill for the Crowing bow, Rainbow sniper and Suzaku bow.
Dragon Quest Treasures[]
Learned by Heartless hunter.
