Sigma is a supporting antagonist in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. He is a member of Hadlar's Orichalcum Elite Guard created using forbidden magic.
Appearance[]
Sigma takes the appearance of a tall horse humanoid made of Orichalcum wearing a set of knightly armor and a spiked lance slightly taller than himself. His pectoral plates are a compartment that can open to reveal his signature Mirror of Shahal which he dons as a shield.
Personality[]
Sigma is an honorable fighter and chivalrous in combat. Out of Hadlar's Royal Group he is the most respectful of the bunch, rarely if ever engaging in taunts and taking all his fights seriously, even against sorcerers like Popp to whom he has a natural advantage against, being particularly cautious and typically avoids looking down on his foes, a trait that Popp found dangerous since he normally took advantage of being downplayed.
Sigma also regularly offers praise to his foes, with a particular focus on their spellcasting ability often commenting how good of a spell they have used. It is likely that as a result of his magic reflecting ability, that he has developed a natural curiosity towards spells and thus formed the habit of measuring their magic power.
Abilities[]
As an entity made of Orichalcum, Sigma is nigh immune to most forms of damage, leaving very few methods available to hurt him. As the Knight of the group, Sigma is a dexterous, agile warrior wielding a lance in combat which he uses with great proficiency. Most dangerously, Sigma is the most lethal enemy towards any spellcaster by virtue of his signature equipment, the Mirror of Shahal which has imbued the Bounce spell in it, allowing him to reflect any magic attack aimed at him back at the caster, including even the powerful Medroa, the only spell capable of destroying Orichalcum.
While the Mirror of Shahal is usually located in a compartment within his chest which he can open at will, he is also capable of taking this equipment and don it as a shield on his arm, making him very much the literal expression of the Ultimate Spear and Ultimate Shield. Even with all of this, the Knight Sigma hides a more lethal hidden weapon concealed within his right arm. By detaching his right hand he releaves a cannon with which he can use his deadly Lightning Bastar, which utilizes a concentrated Boom spell at point-blank, detonating a blast capable of destroying the enemies' internal organs. The overall damage dealt by this attack is comparable to a Kaboom spell.
