The Spectral Sentinels are an elite group of evil Monsters from Dragon Quest XI, the six top enforcers of Mordegon after he stole Yggdrasil's power and became the Lord of Shadows, establishing a reign of terror over all of Erdrea, before they were vanquished by the Luminary and his allies.
Members[]
- Jasper- A Former champion of Heliodor, now the Supreme Commander of the Spectral Sentinels, holder of the Silver Orb, and guardian of the Fortress of Fear, Jasper has been groomed by Mordegon, who was possessing King Carnelian, for a very long time, nurturing Jasper's feelings of inferiority towards his best friend Hendrik, until he was fully corrupted.
- Indignus - A creation of Mordegon, destructor of the Watchers, Keeper of the Rock of Wrong and the Blue Orb, and guardian of the doorway of the Fortress of Fear, Indignus is seemingly the second most trusted underling of Mordegon, and a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, having been also gifted a supposedly indestructible Dragon Armour by his master, before it was shattered by Erik with his full potential uleashed all at once.
- Alizarin - A giant creation of Mordegon, Alizarin was given command of the seas, terrorizing any ships he came across as well as the Mermaids of Nautica, being virtually immune to all harm thanks to the power given to him by his Red Orb.
- Gyldygga - The keepr of the Gold Orb, Gyldygga terrorized the region of Sniflheim by spreading the Gold Fever, which turned random people into gold statues, and her golden monsters; in truth, Gyldygga was created by Mordegon by providing power to Erik's sister Mia, taking advantage and weaponizing the despair of the young girl after being cursed by the Pirate King's pendant.
- Booga - A clownish but cruel creation of Mordegon, and keeper of the Green Orb, Booga established a reign of terror on Octagonia, transforming the arena into a treacherous Casino, its inhabitants into brainwashed monsters and using his henchmen, such as Boodica to entrap and torture any resistance.
- Tyriant - Keeper of the Purple Orb, this undead skeletral monstrousity enshrouded the land of Heliodor in an eternal veil of darkness, while taking the capital and Heliodor Castle for himself, sadistically torturing the struggling survival with periodic hunts from his aerial forces.
Each of the sentinels were given command of a squadron of cruel monsters, most of which were originally peaceful creature before being brainwashed by Mordegon's evil influence; furthermore, even indipendent agents began doing their own nefarious deeds, spreading even more chaos in the world.
In the new timeline, created by the Luminary travelling back in time, the Sentinels did not exist, with Jasper himself being cruelly slain by his own master before being transformed into one, but versions of themselves, representing the hero's inner worst traits, still appeared as tests of character in the Trial Isle's trials by the spirit of Drustan.

Trivia[]
- With the exceptions of Jasper and Gyldygga, who were once Human before their complete or partial corruption, all other Sentinels were created from scratch by Mordegon himself.
- The Spectral Sentinels share some similarities with the Dark Army's Legion Commanders from The Adventure of Dai, both in number, general structure, and role.
