Spooky Aura is learned by several monster companions such as the rotten apple. It will lower a target's resistance to hindering spells, such as sap. An enemy's resistance to the skill is shared with Whack. it is also used by Corpse corporals, and Samiginas in battle.
Spooky Aura is learned by advancing to rank 5 of the Luminary vocation and already learned by recruited Lesser demons when they join the party. It reduces an enemy's resistance to magical ailments as well as spell damage. Again, its resistance parameter is shared with the Whack line of spells and is also used by Lesser demons as well as Corpse corporals once again.
Still learned via Luminaries (Rank 4 for the PS1 original and Rank 3 for the 3DS remake), the skill can also be picked up at rank 1 of the Prism peacock vocation, and rank 5 of the Barbatos vocation. The skill operates exactly as it did in VI, and is also used by Barbatoses, Master moosifers, and Mega moais in battle against their enemies.
This ability is learned with 26 skill points allocated into the Mage's Spellcraft skill tree. It reduces a foe's resistance to magic (damage and ailments) by 25% when first cast, and once more when cast again. The ability has it's own resistance percentage now, separate from any instant-death spells. It costs 6 MP to use, and is also used by Shamen, Raving reapers, and Grim reapers in battle.
Learned with 38 skill points invested into the Mage's Spellcraft skill tree, it acts the same as in IX, and is also used by Red barons in battle. From Version 4 onwards, the success rate of this ability is increased.
Veronica will learn spooky aura for 8 skill points in her Vim attribute. It costs 3 MP to use and operates as it did in its last two appearances.
