Stornway is a town in Dragon Quest IX. It is one of the first towns visited by the Hero. It is home to the Quester's Rest inn and is generally considered the "central" location in the game, despite only being involved in the early plot. The region surrounding the town shares the name Stornway.

Much of Stornway's importance is related to the Quester's Rest inn. It makes Stornway the hub for changing party members, accessing multiplayer, and DQVC features of Dragon Quest IX. The town adds two additional shops after completing the main story of the game. This also adds to Stornway's usefulness in the post game.

Synopsis

Stornway is the first town to be visited after Angel Falls. It is the first location with a castle that the player visits. The player can access it after the road to Angel Falls has been cleared by the castle guards. This happens after the player visits and clears The Hexagon.

Arriving in Stornway, the player becomes involved in the saga with the Wight Knight and Princess Simona. This involves trips to a clearing north of the castle, as well as Brigadoom. After resolving he conflict, King Schott tells the player that the checkpoint east of the castle is now open, allowing passage to Coffinwell.

In addition to the main plot, Stornway is also where the player sees Erinn relocate from Angel Falls and assume control over the Quester's Rest inn. This concludes her role in the main portion of the plot.

Quester's Request is the Inn in Stornway. This Inn will constantly be a place that is revisited by the player throughout the game, because of its many uses:

Hint for solution	To complete this quest, you need to collect 7 Medicinal herb and 1 Moonwort bulb. First go to Quester's Rest and talk to Krak Pot, use Alchemy to Convert 6 Medicinal herb to 3 Strong medicine Convert 1 Medicinal herb and 1 Strong medicine to 1 Superior Medicine Convert 2 Strong medicine to 1 Special medicine Convert 1 Special medicine, 1 Superior medicine and 1 Moonwort bulb to 1 Panacea (You can, of course, skip some of these steps if you already own some of the materials) Give Panacea to Bill to complete the quest.

Detail	Malinda from Stornway wants to see if you can make a Malleable mask even more beautiful with alchemy. She said she would be happy enough just to see the result, but if you give it to her, she'll swap it for a Stiletto heels and a Jaguarment.
Hint for solution	First you'll need to make a Malleable mask through alchemy. This requires a Circlet, x2 Butterfly wing and x2 Narspicious. Next of all you'll need to make your Papillon mask. To make this you will need a Malleable mask, a Dread dagger and x3 Narspicious.

Hint for solution	Talk to Kalvin in the Stornway armour shop to start this quest. Next, head to the inn and to make a Macabre mantle combine a Dark robe, x4 Wings of Bat, and x3 Terrible tattoos. Bring it back to Kalvin to finish the quest.

Hint for solution	Make your way towards the Castle's treasure's room. Examine the opened red box in the middle and you should find a crumpled piece of paper. Go back to Earnan. Then bring him three vials of Magic Water and you're done.

Hint for solution	Go to the house of Woody Nickitt (to the north) at night and try to speak to him while he's sleeping. He'll tell you that an Abyss diver stole the necklace. Sail along the west border of the world map until one of these beasts spawns. After the fight, one will drop a treasure chest containing a memento necklace. Take it back to Nicholas.

Hint for solution	Go to Nicholas' house at night and try to speak to him while he's sleeping. He'll tell you that (this time) a Pink sanguini stole the necklace. Zoom to Bloomingdale and fight some of them, until one finally drops the necklace once again.

Detail	Erinn has asked you to try and cheer Patty up. Patty seems to be reminiscing about her time as an explorer, and feeling sad about her long lost friend Phoebe.
Hint for solution	Talk to Erinn behind the counter in the Stornway Inn. She will ask you to try and cheer up Patty. Talk to Patty to see what's bugging her. She will talk about Pheobie, an old friend she used to adventure with but parted ways in a nomad village. Talk to Erinn again and then head out to find the nomad village. Fly to Batsureg and talk to the former chief. He will tell you that Pheobie is dead. Fly back to Stornway and talk to Patty again. Go back to Batsureg at night to talk to Pheobie's ghost. She will ask you to visit her grave. You must take the ship to the Khaalag Coast (coast north of Batsureg). DO NOT FLY; if you do so, she will not meet you at her grave. Find her grave to receive a friendant. Show this to Patty. Patty will now be able to join your party!!!
