Dragon Quest VIII[]
Making its debut, it is a skill that Jessica can learn when she invests 100 skill points into her Knife skill tree, replacing Assassin's Stab. It deals an additional 30% more damage regardless of success and has a higher accuracy of 25%.
- In the 3DS version, Sudden Death deals 80% more damage instead of 50%, stacking with Dragonsbanes and Zombiesbanes' additional damage.
Dragon Quest XI[]
Reappearing as a separate skill from Assassin's Stab, Sylvando can learn it through his Knives character builder. It deals twice the damage of a normal attack and can instantly kill enemies. Just like in the Battle Road series, it has the Lightning attribute.
Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road Series[]
Reappearing from Battle Road II onwards, it appears as the blue button technique for the Mercury's rapier, and attacks all enemies with lighting attribute damage.
