Castlevania Homage?[]
The concept of a "Crucifix Boomerang" is used in the Castlevania games and is one of the most famous (And useful) sub-weapons in the entire series. I am not sure if this is just a coincidence or actually a homage, as Dragon Quest 9 loves referencing other stuff (usually in pun form)
