Tentacular is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series.
Characteristics[]
The tentacular is a squid monster with yellow tentacles and a lavender arrow-shaped crown on its head. Debuting as a hard-hitting nuisance of the open seas in Dragon Quest III, in later titles the tentacular is a far more fearsome foe, sweeping parties to the decks of their own ships with one swipe of its massive appendages.

Tentaculars (as well as King squids and Squidzillas) will always appear with a left tentacle and a right tentacle (Squid kids and Merkings in 2D mode of the game).
A Tentacular first appears as a monster sent by Jasper to slow the Luminary and his allies down, but Gondolia merchant ships force it to flee. Later, it shows up harassing the Lonalulu sailors, and tries to kill the Luminary and his allies for Jasper (albeit indirectly) but is defeated. However, after Mordegon gains power from Yggdrasil, more start to show up.
