Manga differences
- Varon only says he taught magic to Leona instead of ice magic
- Leona does not call Dai "chibi" anymore, probably because it is now considered more like an insult in Japan
- Now says that they met the King of Romos because he went to Papnica
- Now wakes the killerpillar by piercing its snot bubble
- The soldier talking about rituals of magic now looks younger and Dai is not seen binding to the Sizz spell
- Dai does not use a spear against the evil scorpion and cut his left pincer instead of its eye. He then jumped on its back by climbing a hill instead of calling a Terrordactyl and does not cut its tail
- Dai does not stop the bloodflow of Leona's poisoned arm with a bandage
- The spell used by Varon is now stated to be Bang instead of being nameless
- The small talk between Temjin and Brass is now shown to be about how Dai was found
- Brass' spell against Temjin is now shown to be Frizz
- The Killing machine now comes out of a Magic Cylinder instead of Varon teleporting to the ship to get it
- The king squid tentacles are not cut by the machine
- Dai's lightning is not compared to a hero Zapple spell
- Varon does not attack Temjin anymore
- Removed the gag of Varon becoming bald after Dai's Sizzle burned his hair.
- Added the scenes of Leona's soldier coming to the rescue, Temjin trying to fool them and Leona revealing their plot.
- Showed Leona's ritual.
- Dai now tries to do a Kaswoosh again instead of just Frizz on the seashore
- Added the scene of Popp and Avan, giving them the narration dialogue about the Dark Lord's revival
Trivia
- Popp uses a game encounter intro dialogue when he says that monsters are attacking the city
- Demon Army was changed to Dark Army in the Crunchyroll/Hulu English subtitle localization provided by Square Enix.
