"This Provisional Licence Proves I've Graduated! The Fierce Fight, Hadlar VS Avan!!" is the seventh episode of the 1991 anime The Adventure of Dai. It first aired on 28 November 1991.
Showed the flashback battle between Dark Lord Hadlar and Avan 15 years ago. Furthermore Hadlar is shown to have his Hell's Claw Coup de Grâce with this old body. They also have the refined design from the Clash Arc instead of a pastiche of aged Dragonlord with staff and the Hero of the first game with Erdrick's helmet.
After Haldar defeats Dai and now taunts him, Popp now claims that he wants to avenge Dai and Avan tells them to flee which Hadlar lets them do. Then them come back because Dai wants to help.
The spell Hadlar sends at Popp and Dai is stated to be a Kafrizz while it was unnamed in the manga.
Avan now asks Haldar to let him do his farewells. Both Dai and Popp cry during the graduation, while only Popp did in the source material.

The outside of Hadlar's flashback castle seems to be based on the first film design while the inside apparently uses the Underkeep as seen in the Gathering Arc
