Tower of Lost Time

The Tower of Lost Time is a location in Dragon Quest XI. It is situated in The Lost Land, a remote region north of Yggdrasil. The interior of the tower resembles the inside of a giant clock, filled with large gears, some of which act as lifts to transport the party to upper levels.

Synopsis[]

Act 2[]

After defeating Mordegon and saving their world, the party, still mourning the loss of Veronica, learn of a possible way to bring her back while exploring the ruins of Havens Above. Led to the Tower of Lost time, they are greeted by a being inside called the Time Keeper, who tells of Time's Sphere, a magical object that records the history of Erdrea. Through shattering the sphere, it would be possible for the Luminary alone to travel back in time to before the fall of Yggdrasil, though at the cost of undoing all that has transpired since. After much debate with the rest of the party, the Luminary pierces the sphere with the Sword of Light, transporting himself into the past.

Act 3[]

The Luminary returns to the tower once more after meeting with the Watchers inhabiting Havens Above and learning of the Time Keeper's true identity. After speaking with the Time Keeper, she will upgrade the Calamus flute, restoring Cetacea's full powers and enabling her to pierce the protective barrier surrounding Calasmos.

After Calasmos' defeat, the party make one last trip to the tower. Using his powers, the Luminary restores the Time Keeper to her true form as the ancient sage Serenica. He then hands her the Sword of Light, allowing her to pierce Time's Sphere and return to her own time to be reunited with Erdwin.
