Tyriant is a boss monster in the Dragon Quest series.
Characteristics
Appearance
Tyriant is a tall purple skeleton in black armor, wearing a purple cape. He wears the Purple Orb in his right eye socket, and weilds two swords.
Personality
As one of the Spectral Sentinels, Tyriant is fiercely loyal to Mordegon and proud of his title. He's also cocky, laughing at the Luminary and Hendrick's attempt to bring back light to Heliodor.
Biography
Taking residence in Heliodor Castle after the Fall and granted the Purple Orb, Jasper sics him on the Luminary and Hendrik. The Spectral Sentinel tells them that the age of darkness is ongoing and the light will never return as long as he lives. He fights the two heroes, but loses and is destroyed, bringing back the light to Erdrea and allowing the party to regain the Purple Orb.
