Etymology

Ursa panda is a pun, using Latin conventions to translate "panda bear" .

Giant pandas are an order of bears native to China and East Asia, recognised for their unique black-and-white patterned fur. Classified as a threatened species, the panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) survives on a diet of bamboo shoots and leaves.
