War Cry is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series. It is used in order to stun or scare opponents, but the chance of success is somewhat low. However, it can be very helpful in stunning enemies that can cause various status ailments to the party, provided the selected character is faster.
Making its debut, it is an enemy only skill that is used by Peepers, Bullions, Weartigers, Mandragores, Terrorflyers, Demonspawns and Canniboxes, as well as the Tigergram, Barbatos, and Well wishers and Scarewells, though only in the remakes for the latter. Torneko can also use this ability as one of his random actions.
Now usable by allies, it can be used by certain monster companions; Moosifer, Battle Pip, and Saber are just a few, while Powie yowies, Eyevory tusk-tusks, and Pink elephants can use this skill against enemies.
The skill can be learned when one advances to rank 5 of the Merchant vocation, and is also used by Well wishers, Scarewells, Dreadful drackals, Yawnoceroses, Chompoceroses, Bigg, and Gallows giant in battle. It can also be used by recruited Damned rams at level 7, though only in the SNES version.
Yangus is the only character that can use War Cry, and needs 32 points allocated to his Humanity skill. It is also used by Mars rovers, Dark turkeys, Fowlfighters, Dark devildogs, Seasaurs, Blue fangs, Dhoulmagus, Evil Sir Leopold, Lord of the Dragovians, and the Vermillion Dragon in battle.
Acting the same as in previous appearances, a character in the Martial Artist vocation can learn this slightly risky ability by investing 4 points in the Focus Skill tree, and is also needed to complete a quest found at the entrance to Alltrades Abbey. It is also used by Badboons, Beakons, Scarewolves, Apeckalypses, Mega moais, Grand Lizzier, Barbarus, and Orgodemir, as well as Seasaurs and Dhoulmagus once again.
Acting the same as in previous appearances, it is learned by investing 70 skill points into the Martial Artist's Focus skill tree and costs 3 MP to use. It is also used by Summer wolves, Belisha beakons, Stark ravens, Avalaunchers, Forest peckerels, Megaton champs, Sintaurs, Tormentaurs, Crimson glaives, Phalaris bulls, as well as Apeckalypeses and Blue fangs once again.
In Dragon Quest Monsters 2, the skill is obtained by recruiting or breeding for Fangslime, Drygon, Yeti, GulpBeast, Eyeball, EvilWell, and MerTiger.
Dragon Quest Monsters Joker, and Joker 2, bring back WarCry through a small handful of skillsets.
In the original Joker, the skill can be found in the following skills:

In Joker 2, War Cry can be found in the same skillsets, but with the inclusion of the following:
