The wayfarer's clothes are an armor equipment item common in the Dragon Quest series. They typically offer low-level defensive protection.

Appearances[]

Dragon Quest III[]

Called Traveler's clothes in the GBC version. It provides a defence bonus of +8 and can be equipped by all classes. The Hero begins the game with it equipped.

Dragon Quest IV[]

The wayfarer's clothes have a defence bonus of +7. They can be equipped by the Hero, Ragnar McRyan, Alena, Kiryl, Borya, Maya, and Meena. It can be purchased from Zalenagrad, Lakanaba, and Laissez Fayre for 70 gold and sold for 52 gold, as well as being part of Kiryl's initial equipment.

Dragon Quest V[]

The Wayfarer's clothes have a Defence bonus of +7 and can be equipped by the Hero, the Hero's Son, the Hero's Daughter, Harry, Sancho, Tuppence, and several monster companions. It can be purchased from Roundbeck in the first generation for 70 gold and sold for 35 gold. One set can also be found in the Whealbrook Adit and they can be dropped by Drackymas, as well.

Dragon Quest VI[]

The Wayfarer's clothes have a Defence bonus of +7, a Style bonus of +6, and can be worn by the Hero, Carver, Milly, Ashlynn, Nevan, Terry, Amos, and Goowain. They can be purchased from Weaver's Peak and Haggleton for 70 gold and sold for 52 gold. The clothes are also part of Nevan's initial equipment. More sets can be found at the Mountain Pass, Aridea, Clearvale, and Felonia, as well as being dropped by Tree fellers.

Dragon Quest VII[]

The Wayfarer's clothes have a Defence bonus of +7 and a Style bonus of +6, and they can be worn by all characters. They can be purchased from Estard Castle, Ballymolloy in the present, and Emberdale in the past for 70 gold coins and sold for 35 gold coins. Kiefer has some equipped at the beginning of the game. More sets can be found in Pilchard Bay, Greenthumb Gardens, La Bravoure, Gröndal in the present, El Ciclo in the past, and Nottagen in the present. Wayfarer's clothes can also be won as prizes from the Lucky Panel at the Casino. They can also be dropped by Drackymas and Floating bloaters.

Dragon Quest VIII[]

The Wayfarer's clothes have a Defence bonus of +7 and can be equipped by all characters. They can be purchased from Farebury for 70 gold. Both Jessica Albert and Morrie join the party with them equipped. Wayfarer's clothes can also be dropped by Satyrs, Fencing foxes, and Toxic zombies. They can also be made using the Alchemy Pot.

Dragon Quest Builders[]

Named the builder's outfit this outfit give +5 defense and slightly increased movement speed. It can be made at a mason's worktable, sewing station or a carpenter's workstation. The player needs blue goo, orange goo, cord and either 2 coarse cloth or 2 cotton if you're playing as a boy or girl.

Dragon Quest Builders 2[]

The wayfarer's clothes function the same as in the previous Builders game under it's proper name. They can be made with two cords and five grass fibers.

Dragon Quest Tact[]

The wayfarer's clothes are a B-rank piece of armour with a DEF and WIS bonus of +6 that can be equipped by Attack, Support, and Debuff units. The clothes have three slots for Alchemy Effects. They can be purchased up to five times monthly from the Gold Shop for 1,000 gold or received as a reward for completing the third stages of Purrcival, Dark sabrecub, Jolly Sasquash, Trap box, Halloween king, Red Robbin' 'ood, Great muddy hand, Lleviathan, and Mont Leonis's Battle Roads.

Dragon Quest Treasures[]

The wayfarer's clothes are Treasure No. 209 in the Armour 1 category. Their base value is 22,000 gold.
