Weird Dance (Boggle Bogle in Scan Battlers) is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series.

Description[]

Drains the MP of a party member.

Appearances[]

Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake[]

Only appearing in the game's HD-2D Remake, it is used by Treefaces, Heyedras, Treevils, Eyelashers, Vladdies, and Bags o' Laughs once again.

Dragon Quest II[]

Making its debut, it is used by Mud mannequins, Treefaces, Treevils, Magic marionettes, Heyedras, and Eyelashers to drain MP from the Scions of Erdrick. In the HD-2D Remake, it is also used by Enemy anemones, as well as Bags o' Laughs, Catulas, and Goodybags once again.

Dragon Quest III[]

Acting the same as in II, it is used by Bags o' laughs, Catulas, Goodybags, and Troobloovoodoos, as well as Vladdies in the HD-2D Remake, to drain MP from Erdrick and his companions.

Dragon Quest IV[]

While still an enemy only skill, it is a random action that can be used by Torneko in battle to drain MP from enemies. It is also used by Peepers, Wimps, Lugworms, Sasquashes, Stump grumps, Pocus poppets, and Damselflies in battle.

Dragon Quest V[]

While still usable by monsters, it can be learned by recruited Drackies, Goodybags, Fandangowes, Magic marionettes, Beastmasters, Hulagans, and Snowbirds. It costs 0 MP to use, and is used by Fandangowes, Hula ghouls, Suckling ockers, Beastmasters, Deathsquads, and Slave-drivers, as well as Goodybags and Magic Marionettes once again.

Dragon Quest VI[]

Now learnable by human characters, it is learned by advancing to Rank 3 of the Dancer vocation and Rank 4 of the Merchant vocation. It costs 0 MP to use once again, and is used by Wild carrots, Sluggernauts, Crayzees, and Mad mallards, as well as Mud Mannequins and Magic Marionettes once again. In addition, it is learned by recruited Mud Mannequins and Sluggernauts when they join the party and recruited Lipses at level 15, though only in the SNES version.

Dragon Quest VII[]

Acting the same as in previous games once again, it is learned by advancing to Rank 4 of the Dancer vocation (Rank 3 in the 3DS remake), and by mastering the Lips vocation. It costs 0 MP to use once again, and is also used by Scarfish, Prancing pillars, Cavorting columns, Elepuses, and Mimics in battle, as well as Bags o' Laughs, Goodybags (During the Grody Gumpdrops boss fight), Mud Mannequins, and Magic Marionettes once again.

Dragon Quest VIII[]

An enemy only skill once again, it is used by Bags o' Laughs, Treefaces, Mud Mannequins, Treevils, Mimics, and Magic Marionettes once again.

Dragon Quest IX[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is used by Ragged reapers in battle, as well as Bags o' Laughs, Treefaces, Treevils, Sluggernauts, and Mimics once again. The Hero can learn a Party Trick version by talking to a ghost in The Bowhole.

Dragon Quest X[]

Once again an enemy only skill, it is used by Dancing devils, Awebergines, Stumpkins, Sluggers, Napirs, Chest mimics, Holly Olivers, Pumpkin kids, Minidemons, Lil' tykes, Multicolour mannequins, Scarabuggers, Gold-plated puppets, Hate tree, and the Dance Devil, as well as Catulas, Treefaces, Scarfish, Prancing Pillars, Cavorting Columns, Mud Mannequins, Magic Marionettes, Treefaces, Treevils, Wimps, and Mimics once again.

Dragon Quest XI[]

Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is used by Caped caperers, as well as Mud Mannequins, Magic Marionettes, Gold-Plated Puppets, Stump Grumps, and Goodybags once again. In this entry, however, in addition to draining an enemy's MP, it also allows that enemy to regain said drained MP as its own.

Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road Series[]

Reappearing from Battle Road onwards, it is used by monsters like Treefaces and Mud Mannequins to make all enemies vulnerable to spells, since there is no MP.

Dragon Quest Heroes and Dragon Quest Heroes II[]

Acting the same as in the main series games, it is used by Bags o' Laughs in both games and Antiquitrees in the sequel.
