Wii
The Wii, originally developed under the codename Revolution, was released in 2006 as Nintendo's fifth home console and eleventh gaming system overall. It followed the GameCube and competed with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3, becoming the best-selling system of its generation. Nintendo aimed the Wii at a broader audience than its competitors.
A key feature of the Wii is its wireless controller, the Wii Remote, which can be used as a motion-sensing device and pointer, capable of detecting movement and rotation in three dimensions.
