The Woodcutter's cabin is a minor location in Dragon Quest IV. Situated between the Hidden Valley and Casabranca, it is home to a solitary woodcutter and his dog, as well as a lone grave.
Synopsis[]
After the destruction of their hometown, the Hero stumbles upon the cabin shortly after departing on their journey. Its cantankerous inhabitant is outwardly hostile to the young visitor, but nevertheless offers them shelter for the night, as well as providing some items and equipment.
After talking to the inhabitants at nearby Casabranca, as well as those in Zenithia, it becomes apparent that the woodcutter is in fact the Hero's grandfather, his son having been struck down by divine lightning after falling for a Zenithian woman. This would make it highly probable that the grave near the cabin is that of the Hero's father.
