Wyverns are monsters from the Dragon Quest series.
Characteristics[]
Wyverns are stronger versions of Terrorflyers. In the original, NES release of Dragon Quest IV and other titles of that era, Wyverns (then known as Ryverns) were yellow in color while Terrorflyers (then Tyranobats) were gray. In subsequent re-releases, and in most but not all modern titles, however, for some reason the color schemes were swapped between the two. It is possible that this was done for consistency sake in regards to the color scheme of the even stronger Emperor wyvern.
